Vibrant yet vulnerable, the Yellow-Shouldered Amazon Parrot (Amazona barbadensis) is persevered forever in this lovely limited edition print by Elizabeth Butterworth. Restricted to small coastal area in Venezuela and the islands of Blanquilla, Margarita and Bonaire, Yellow-Shouldered Amazons are at risk due to loss of habitat from growing tourism, as well as egg poaching and trapping the wild bird trade. Fortunately, populations have been gradually increasing over the last decade with help from the World Parrot Trust and our partners who continue to work towards the protection and preservation of this stunning species.
