This original watercolor painting by Kitty Harvill features the stunning Salmon-Crested Cockatoo (Cacatua moluccensis), also known as the Moluccan Cockatoo, endemic to the Seram archipelago in eastern Indonesia. Suffering from deforestation and habitat loss, this beautiful bird is classified as Vulnerable in the wild with an estimated 4,000 birds removed annually for the illegal parrot trade. The World Parrot Trust has worked with numerous partners to help stop unsustainable trapping with education and awareness programs and efforts to create a strict nature reserve to protect this precious species from extinction.
